Trade Development in South Asia: Potential, Challenges and the Role of China

[Abstract]In recent years, the South Asian regional economic cooperation develops steadily, the regional trade expands continuously, the very contents of which goes much further than the figure of 5%. The economic factor which constrains SAARC trade development is the major challenge the regional economic cooperation and development are facing. Without a solution to it, there will be no great potential exploited with the regional cooperation. China’s expansions of economic and commercial cooperation with South Asia countries in terms of trade and investment help to enhance the intra-regional trade supply capacity, thus to further expand the intra-regional trade and economic cooperation.
